Not knowing where or when this meeting was, checked out everyone and got copy of this - not sent to me.

Then I sent out notice to all candidate I could - below;

For Your Information - from the the-democratic-reporter.com/

The Mayor will be making an election related announcement today of some kind at Streetsville Kinsmen Hall, 327 Queen St S, just above the Railroad tracks (Old Streetsville City hall - how fitting) - 3 p.m.
Understand that more then that could be happening.

As I was trying to take most pictures without flash, the colour is off a bit, did best to get them right.

Who is to blame?

Of all the reasons I give for the current situation in Mississauga, that being spending millions on a Public Inquiry and given what I know there could be more then just what is currently at issue.

I blame the media.
Why?
Because Canadians (mistakenly), have put their faith in the media to keep them informed of the facts they need to know when voting and forming opinions about their politicians.
Canadians have been betrayed.
If Mississaugans knew haft of why I knew in 1997, all of City Council would have been voted out then!  More importantly, Mississauga politicians have for far too long, no need to fear being held accountably for their actions as they knew they could hide behind
Ma McCallion's skirt and get away with murder whenever they pleased
- the Democratic system was totally broken
because it only works when voters are informed with the facts.

The old Streetsville City hall from 1996, then a police station after Mississauga came into being.  How fitting a place for Hazel to hold her 2010 News announcement and to show she is stuck in the mud of years past.

The hall still has lots of the small town flavor and
little has changed over the years.

What is this?

Is this Peter McCallion out to get people to vote for his dear Mom - how nice.
Or.
A protester - maybe, the mustache did appear to slip.
Well, we all know what the kids are going to be wearing this Halloween.

The Mayor did say she selected this site because it had parking.
What was she thinking or remembering?

The front door was locked, so we all had to go in the rear and was starting to rain on and off.
Bit of a shock walking down the hallway, as the cameras and lights were on me - had the media finally clued in that I was worth talking to?
No - they were waiting for the Mayor to make her grand entrance.

Some overview
for the feeling you were there and far more then other media care to deliver.
If you want to see more of a picture try viewing for more details.

At this point it is necessary to point of what I see as the reality of the situation and having been to other news conferences in this very same room, know what I speak of.
The Mayor is lost in time.
She still is living in the good old days when things were simpler.
All you had to do was slap a table down in a hall and you were good to go.
How long ago was that - in what century?
Hazel had no mike and her voice was not amplified.
Hazel had no stage to stand on, to raise the tiny perfect Mayor up
and because the media formed a wall in front of her, few could even see all or any of her.
She showed up with only one handler, who did very little of what he said he would, as the Mayor is in control, of course.
The old style town hall meeting was an injustice to those who came to support her.
It also showed how the Mayor doesn't clue into the details of a modern operation, after all it just is all about her.

Still it is interesting to see who attended this important gathering.

I made a point of discovering where and when the meeting was, then telling all the other candidates about it as they appeared not to know.
Can you spot any?
The Shipps were there and behind are two City Councillors.

What should be considered as important is that the Mayor was talking about team work,
working together for the good of Mississauga and
yet these two Councillors were never mentioned as an example of team players
or even went up to stand beside the Mayor, in public.
Why?

Another reason for concern.

These are not from the same picture.
Any big name politician worth their salt have their speech all texted out and rolls up on a teleprompter.
Not so Hazel, over and over again she plays with her papers/notes,
she certainly has a lot but didn't use much that I could see - was this the pile of E-mails she talks about?
She certainly still knows how to deliver a speech but
only to those who don't know the facts and the truth behind her examples, would fall for the lies.

Oddness

Just in case you think you know how elections work in Mississauga,
in the background is a candidate for the office of Mayor,
Ursula Keuper-Bennett and I am on the Mayor's other side.
Ham sandwich?
Both of us are in media, in our own way, just as the Mayor was in her early days.

Should the title for this picture be, as soon as we get the money.

The Hazel McCallion action pictures!

Couple of question pictures.

From National Post.

And that person.

Just love this picture!

OH - GET A ROOM!!!

After Hazel famous arms up like Nixon going to win or don't care, the standing ovation, with cheers of 4 more years,
Shipp the elder runs up and kisses the Mayor - couple of over 80 year olds going at it in public.

The poetic or a prognosticate moment.
On the way home,
there on a over head line, was a lone Hawk in the rain - battling the forces of nature just to survive another day.
The only way it knows how, face to the storm head-on, only able to trust in its physical strength to carry the day.
